    Robots: (February 2010)
During this semester-long project my teammates and I produced a 3D animated short from start to finish. As Art Director I was responsible for defining the overall look and feel of the piece and ensuring that each team member was on the right track. Starting with reference photography and notes from the writer I composed color schemes and concept paintings for the characters and environments. I also created a color timeline to aid with the progression of the story. Most texturing was my responsibility which I achieved using a combination of photographs and hand-painted images. I composed the lighting in line with my paintings and timeline. Finally I rendered each shot in various layers for complete visual control when compositing. Software used includes Photoshop, Maya, MentalRay, and Shake.

    Soft Ball: (June 2009)
The goal of this shot was to incorporate a 3D element into a photograph that includes cast shadow patterns for the element to move through. I used RGB lighting and other rendering/compositing techniques to achieve this effect. After matching the camera and lighting I painted a cookie based on the ground shadows, then projected it from the light source onto the ball. This layer was then used as a mask for the light on the ball when composited together. I was responsible for all aspects of this project including the original photograph. Software used includes Photoshop, Maya, and Shake.

Gun in the Fridge: (July 2009)
This piece involved incorporating a reflective 3D object into a photograph. The gun in the piece reflects its environment, as well as itself. I made use of an environment ball photo for the 'env reflect' layer. The 'grnd reflect' layer was created by modeling a simple mockup of the shelf and jars, then projecting the original photograph onto them so that they could be reflected accurately. I was responsible for everything in this shot except for the gun model. Software used includes Maya and Shake.

    Pirate Ship: (May 2009)
This is an all-3D shot. I did the texturing and lighting, the model was provided by a friend. Software used includes Maya and MentalRay.

    Old Rope: (April 2009)
I did the texturing, fur, lighting, and compositing for this piece using Photoshop, Maya, MentalRay, and Shake.

    Gas Mask: (March 2009)
I did the modeling, texturing, and lighting for this piece using Maya and MentalRay. All textures are procedural.

    Shatter Shader: (March 2009)
This is a procedural RSL shader I programmed. The shatter pattern is generated procedurally and contains parameters for animation. I am not responsible for the environment photograph.

    Paintings and Drawings: (Various Dates)
Various digital and traditional works of mine from the past few years.
